On this episode of The Knit Show with Vickie Howell we show some major amoré for amigurumi — crochet and knit, stuffed toys!
First up, we meet this week’s Knit Hive, which includes Vickie’s mom and daughter!
Then we’re in the studio with the incomparable, Twinkie Chan. Known for her adorable amigurumi items, Twinkie shows us her methods for shaping and stuffing toys, specifically applied to her cute Loaf Kitty plushie.
Next, we step away from our stitching to visit with psychotherapist, Chelsea DeKryuff who coaches us through how we can bring mindfulness into our knitting and crochet practice.
Later, we’re back in the studio with more crochet play with Crafty Is Cool’s Allison Hoffman. Allison is the queen of amigurumi details, finding fame as a designer of celebrity look-alike dolls. During this segment she shows techniques for adding eyes and embroidered elements to a customizable Sloth toy!
We end the episode with Vic’s Tips for successful knit and crochet toy making. (Brought to you by Knitter’s Pride/KnitPro)
